The story of Echo and Narcissus is most commonly known as one of unrequited love and a warning against being too self-absorbed. It focuses mainly on Narcissus with Echo left to pine away to the bone, forming into a mountainside until only her voice is left on the wind.

Sita’s E&N dances mischievously on the outskirts of this narrative in an all singing and all dancing celebration of Echo’s journey from talkative mountain nymph, to one who can only repeat the words of others, to stone and then air.
