Refugee Week Scotland takes place every year in June to celebrate World Refugee Day. Each event helps to shine a light on the cultural richness and diversity of our communities. OneRen are proud to be part of this annual national fiesta.
This one day festival is a celebration of the food and drink, music and poetry, art, dance, language and ideas that people bring with them when they settle in Scotland. Join us for a family friendly World Food Boogie event during the day and an evening of music featuring some of the most exciting music talent in Scotland, curated by Matt Hickman (Brownbear).
An exhibition, talk and workshop covering the hand made 'Millie' dolls representing textile workers from all over the world and the legacy of grandmothers, mothers and sisters who have passed their sewing skills down from generation to generation -made by the members of Sewing2getherAll Nations, a refugee assisting organisation based in Renfrewshire.
