The once-in-a-generation investment is nearing completion with the successful re-opening of Paisley Town Hall and Paisley Central Library in 2023.

This year, we will begin to welcome back more new and improved community assets that we operate on behalf of Renfrewshire Council.

We can't wait to welcome everyone back to our new and refurbished venues.

Paisley Town Hall

The curtain has come up on Paisley’s big stage which sees an iconic, architectural gem, transformed into a world-class venue and one of Scotland’s best performance spaces.

The renovated town hall is now offering state of the art technical facilities, high speed internet connection, screening room, main hall with seating over three floors for 700 delegates and 8 unique breakout spaces.

Take a look at what's happening at Paisley Town Hall here.

Paisley Central Library

The result of an impressive £7m investment, the existing High Street building has undergone a full internal remodelling across all four floors. The eye-catching ground and first floor frontage complements the surroundings and preserves the historical features on the building’s upper floors.

The interior design of the new Paisley Central Library is modern, fresh, warm and welcoming. As well as lots of cosy book nooks, there is a new purpose-built children’s library with unique areas for reading, learning and play. You can also relax and enjoy the quiet space on the new third floor mezzanine, or visit our new dedicated digital suite which offers free public IT access for all.

Paisley Arts Centre

Paisley Arts Centre is currently undergoing an amazing transformation designed to enhance accessibility, comfort, and facilities.

We’re increasing the size of the bar/foyer area with an extension out front and will be replacing the seating bank and for the first time there will be wheelchair accessible spaces available on the first floor.

As well as audiences, artists are central to the creative life of the building and brand-new backstage facilities for visiting performers will make them feel welcome in Paisley.

The studio space will be available for rehearsals and developing new work while a smaller, multi-purpose function room can be turned to a variety of creative and commercial uses. Outside will change too, with a remodelling of the pavement and outdoor space to open up the Arts Centre, offering new spaces for performance and making the building more accessible.

The world-class museum refurbishment is the flagship project in the regeneration of Paisley and Scotland’s biggest cultural heritage capital development. Home to galleries, an observatory, heritage centre, public gardens, events, and more, the reimagined museum will be at the heart of the local community – and open for everyone to learn, discover, create and connect.

The new museum will be a vibrant and accessible cultural hub providing welcoming facilities to the community whilst attracting visitors to Paisley from across Scotland and beyond.

The stories behind the museum and the treasures it holds have been extensively and collaboratively researched and will be shared more widely in the months ahead – building excitement as we look forward to revealing the jewel in our cultural crown.
