Janet Coats Memorial Prize 2025
Join us as we
celebrate the Janet Coats Memorial Prize 2025, an annual poetry award given
in remembrance of Janet Coats, who originated from the local J&P Coats
thread making family and was later involved in the establishment of the James
Tait Black Prize in honour of her late husband. Janet was also a talented
poet, as well as a great philanthropist in education, health and welfare.
In this event, we will hear each of the short-listed poems selected by a
panel including the Tannahill Makar - Shaun Moore, author and poet - Amy B.
Moreno, and a third judge still to be confirmed. They will then announce the
winners of both the adult and young person prizes for 2025.
