In recognition that elderly people were among the most vulnerable and isolated during the pandemic, local artists were commissioned to illustrate Renfrewshire scenes for a colouring book for circulation to care homes.
The Colouring Renfrewshire book is filled with 10 original drawings by 8 Renfrewshire artists, aimed at encouraging feelings of nostalgia and positivity regarding the area’s social history and heritage.
The book is primarily aimed at older residents with a view of it being used for reminiscence and story sharing, with the drawings featuring iconic Renfrewshire buildings and scenes from social events.
Following the development of the Colouring Renfrewshire book distributed to over 2000 care home residents during lockdown, a second colouring book is now in development with students from Glasgow Clyde College as part of Project Search Renfrewshire.
