OneRen operates a successful Learn to Swim Scheme focusing on service excellence in the safe delivery of swimming lessons. The scheme is divided into different levels arranged around a Sea World concept with classes in each level to suit all. The Sea World theme is used to give young people incentives for progression while learning to swim via awards for achieving set targets within the appropriate level.

Lesson places are allocated on a first come, first serve basis at each centre, with a limited amount of spaces available.

 

Lesson Times

Our lessons are available at various times from Monday to Friday and at weekends. Our general time frames are:

  • Mornings – 9am – 12pm
  • Afternoons – 12pm – 4pm
  • Early evening – 4pm – 7pm

Lesson's run throughout the year.

ENROLMENT - Fully booked - Please keep an eye on here, we will update when more spaces become available.

Lessons are offered on a first come first serve basis.  We DON'T have a waiting list.

½ hour lessons cost is £17.60 every 4 weeks by direct debit.

1 hour lessons cost is £35.20 every 4 weeks by direct debit.

All lessons are paid by direct debit.  Account No and Sort code will be required to sign up please bring proof (bank card or online banking app).

Class Details

Level One: 3 months to 3 years

Aims -

  • To develop your child's confidence and to introduce them to a class setting.
  • Classes usually split into two levels, children 17 months and below and children 18 months and older.
  • Parent required to accompany children in the water.

Please note these class are only available at Renfrew Victory Baths and the Lagoon.

Renfrew classes take place:-

Monday 1:30 or 2:00pm or a Friday 10:00, 10:30 or 11:00am

Lagoon classes take place:-

Monday 2:00, 2:30 or 3:00pm or a Friday 10:00 or 10:30am

Level Two: aged 3 to 5 years

Classes available Afternoon and Late Afternoon all days

Aims –

  • To develop movement in the water using a multi stroke approach using fun based activities.
  • To be able to swim unaided 5 metres and carry out a push and glide

Level Three: age 5yrs upwards beginners class

Classes available Afternoon and Late Afternoon all days

Aims –

  • To introduce basic water movement and a multi stroke approach.
  • Competence in basic submerging skills and co-ordination.
  • Push and glides on top and under the water.
  • To swim competently on their front using a recognised stroke for 15 metres and swim 15 metres competently on their back.

Level Four: Must be able to swim 15 metres on front using a recognisable stroke and swim 15 metres competently on their backs

Classes available Afternoon and Late Afternoon all days

Aims –

  • To develop the kick and introduce practices for frontcrawl, Back crawl and Breast stroke.
  • To develop submerging skills.
  • To introduce treading Water skills.
  • To swim 25 metres front crawl, back crawl and 15m
    breast stroke.

Level Five: Must be able to swim 25 metres on front using a recognisable stroke and swim 25 metres competently on their back

Classes available Afternoon and Late Afternoon all days

Aims –

  • To develop the kick and introduce practices for the four strokes.
  • To develop submerging skills.
  • To introduce diving and sculling skills.
  • To swim 50 metres front crawl, back crawl and breast stroke.

Level Six: Must be able to swim 50 metres (2 length of the pool) front crawl, back crawl and breast stroke

Classes available Afternoon and Late Afternoon all days

Aims -

  • To develop technique on all four strokes
  • To work on breathing and timing
  • To develop diving and survival skills.
  • To swim competently 100 metres front crawl, back crawl, breast stroke and 25 metres butterfly

Level Seven: Must be able to swim 100 metres front crawl, back crawl and breast stroke.

Also 25 metres butterfly
Classes available Afternoon and Late Afternoon all days

Aims -

  • To further develop all four strokes
  • Introducing lifesaving skills
  • Developing diving skills and introducing tumble turns
  • To swim 200 metres front crawl, back crawl and breast stroke and 50 metres Butterfly

Adult Lessons

Adult Lessons are available at Renfrew Victory Baths. Please contact the pool on 0300 3000 250 for more information and to enrol.

The cost is £40.00 for 4 x 1hr lessons, paid by Direct Debit.  All abilities are welcome.

General info for parents

  • Children under 8 years old must not enter the water or remain in the water out with their lesson time unless accompanied by a parent who has purchased a valid swim ticket.
  • If your child has a medical condition or any disabilities that may affect their swimming please explain this to the receptionist when registering them.
  • Regular visits to the pool will help children achieve the benefits from their lessons.
  • Spectators are not allowed on poolside while the lessons are in progress.
  • The use of personal video or photographic equipment is strictly prohibited during lesson times.
  • Please come beach ready (swimsuits already under clothes) for swim lessons.
