OneRen has confirmed the gym at Lagoon Leisure Centre will close for two weeks to undergo a significant transformation.
The gym is scheduled to close on Sunday 7 June and will reopen to the public on Saturday 20 June following a period of intensive works. This project is part of a journey of continuous investment across OneRen venues - totalling £275,000 for this site alone - that ensures our members have access to the best health and wellbeing facilities.
Members will benefit from brand new Life Fitness cardio and strength equipment, an upgraded free weights area and immersive lighting. The transformation will also include the installation of a new virtual Wexer suite. This digital platform offers a range of virtual classes led by global experts.
The improvements also include a full redecoration and installation of new floors throughout the free-weights area.
Alan Cunningham, Strategic Operations Manager at OneRen, said: "We are committed to providing the very best facilities for our members to support their health and wellbeing.
“This investment at the Lagoon Leisure Centre will ensure that our community has access to a modern, high-quality environment and the latest fitness technology to help them achieve their goals."
During the two-week closure, OneRen members are encouraged to use alternative facilities across the network. All active memberships provide access to gyms at Renfrew Leisure Centre, Johnstone Community Sports Hub, Erskine Sports Centre and ON-X Linwood.
The recent major refurbishment at ON-X Linwood serves as an example of the high standard of equipment being invested into the Lagoon. Members visiting ON-X during the closure period will have the opportunity to experience the same new equipment and modern gym layout ahead of the Lagoon’s official reopening.
As a taster of the upgrades to come, OneRen will install the EGYM Fitness Hub on 22 May. This technology allows members to experience a new way of training ahead of the full gym relaunch. The system ensures an onboarding experience in just a few minutes. Accurate body analysis and intelligent flexibility tests help define individual fitness goals and create a personalised training journey.
Please note that all other facilities at Lagoon Leisure Centre, including the pool and group exercise classes, will remain open as usual during the gym works.
