Primary pupils showed just how sporty they can be at the latest event delivered by OneRen’s Active Schools Team.
The Target Sports and Dance Event, for pupils with a disability held at the ON-X, in Linwood was a huge hit with more than 70 young people attending.
They took part in sports and activities like archery, boccia, tennis, dance and playground games.
The event, for pupils from Primary One to Primary Seven, was supported by Strathgryffe Tennis Club, Scottish Disability Sport, OneRen sports coaches and the St Benedict’s High School Sports Leaders.
Chris Cleary, OneRen’s Active Schools and Community Club Development Officer, said: “The pupils arrived full of enthusiasm and they really enjoyed taking part in the different activities.
“We wanted to provide taster sessions for different sports and activities and we hope the attendees will go on to join sports clubs, attend other sports events and even start on the pathway to competitive sports.
“OneRen provides a strong pathway for young people with disabilities across Renfrewshire and along with our partners we aim to support athletes to reach their full potential in their chosen sport.”
The next event OneRen is organising for young people with a disability is a Swimming Gala, on Thursday, November 24, at the ON-X.
