_and friends

_and friends proudly presents a night of performance showcasing theatre talent from and connected to Paisley. Founded in 2024 with the mission to platform brand new performance in increasingly challenging times, _and friends produces three scratch nights a year, connecting audiences to artists they may never have heard of making new work that’s never been seen before. Expect new performance that’s raw, exciting, experimental and the first step into the unknown.

That’s It. (Theatre, Performance / Live Art)

ATTENTION: this is not a show you have seen before. Ever. Because it didn’t exist before we made it.   That’s It. is the moment of a century. A true, raw, authentic moment, that we rehearsed. A live, once-in-a-lifetime, never-to-be-repeated moment. That we’ll perform again. If you pay us.

Sarah Marie Mooney

They Get Together In the End (Theatre)

An alternative romcom play charting the course of a couple's relationship, starting at the breakup then moving backwards to end with when they got together. Told in vignettes full of humour and heartache, it offers snapshots that might be relatable to anyone who has fallen in and out of love.

Lynda Kennedy

That’s Alright, Mama (Theatre)

On her son’s eighteenth birthday, Jessie wants to be left alone. Instead she’s confronted by the ghost of Gladys Presley. Two worlds connected by loss, sacrifice and song. That’s All Right, Mama explores motherhood, identity and that fine line between love and dependence.

Charlotte Allan and EmmaClaire Brightlyn

Sea Skin (Theatre, Poetry)

The selkie myth shared though fractured story, bringing our experiences of motherhood and matrescence into conversation with an ancient tale of physical transformation, longing, and impossible choices.

Éimi Quinn

Skelf (Theatre)

What do you do when life doesn’t go according to the plan? Kayleigh is confronted with that very question- when the menopause comes smashing into her approximately three decades early! And if she can’t understand what’s happening to her body, then what hope do her pissed up best pal and hardened Glaswegian Dad have? We follow the three as their lives are rocked by the unexpected. With a want to help each other, but absolutely none of the experience to do so.
