Beth Malcolm, FOLKMOSIS
Scots Singer of the Year 2022 and 2024, Beth
Malcolm has been surrounded by Scottish folk
music since before she could speak.
‘FOLKMOSIS’ is Beth Malcolm’s second album and the story of
her musical coming of age. Originally a commission for Celtic
Connections, her show is told in three acts, through spoken
word and song, ‘FOLKMOSIS’ weaves through genres. Act 1 is
rooted in the traditional, the old folk songs which nurtured
Beth’s childhood. Act 2 follows her ‘rejection years’, when she
followed the siren voices of Amy Winehouse, Paolo Nutini and
London Grammar. Act 3 is Beth’s return, as a young woman
with a backpack of ideas, to the songs and sounds of Scotland.
Supported by some of Scotland’s finest musicians in the
Scottish folk scene, Beth brings ‘FOLKMOSIS’ to Paisley. Her
heart laid bare, she invites you to join her on her journey, and
let her bring you home.
