Glasgow-based author and mother of four, Caro Giles, joins us to discuss the escalating crisis unfolding in British schools, as explored in her memoir, Unschooled. After three of her daughters became unable to go to school, Caro faced an increasingly common problem and was left with no choice but to navigate hostile and underfunded systems and educate them herself. With the number of home-schooled children in the UK more than doubling in the past five years, this session asks why so many children are unable to access mainstream education, and champions the unsung heroes who are left to pick up the pieces. Chaired by diversity consultant and campaigner Lesley Macniven.
