Everyday Heroes: Writing the People who Made Us
Hear from three Scotland-based poets whose work celebrates the people who make them who they are. In her debut collection, Nettles, Nazaret Ranea places her father at the heart of a coming-of-age story rooted in class, migration and the natural world. In Rustlings, Gabrielle Tse looks to family as the source of memory and belonging. Finally, in Bird Cherry, Roshni Gallagher reflects on her grandmother and her dual heritage, drawing connections between Scotland, Ireland and Guyana. Together, their readings offer an intimate look at the everyday heroes who stay with us, and inspiration for the audience to think about their own.
