Welcome to INSPIRED!
Renfrewshire’s Schools Art Exhibition.
Image, Identity and Imagination!
This year's exhibition takes place online from Thursday 26 March with a full interactive gallery featuring 100 artworks selected from some of the best creative talent across Renfrewshire’s schools.
As part of Paisley Arts Festival, on Saturday 28th March in Paisley Town Hall, we will exhibit the works of 20 pupils which were chosen by our judges for special recognition. This one-day exhibition will be open to the public.
Young artists were invited to use portraiture to explore how we express our identity. They were encouraged to think about themselves and others: What do we show the world, and what do we keep inside?
The artists were encouraged to be INSPIRED by artwork in the Paisley Museum collections, particularly pieces by John Byrne and Steven Campbell. The exhibition shows how these influences - and the artists’ own creativity - have shaped artworks that reflect human identity through people, objects, places, spaces, colour, texture, and mark making. A selection of the strongest submissions from Renfrewshire’s secondary school pupils were included in an open category.
Each of these works expresses something of the unique identity and creative voice of these promising young artists and tells a story of image, identity and imagination!
