Louise Baillie has a degree in history from Glasgow University. She was a journalist for almost 20 years and currently works in communications at a children's rights organisation. The idea for Spectacular Scottish Women, Louise's first book, came from wanting to write something her daughters would relate to and be inspired by. Louise loves running, playing tennis (badly), and the Scotland football team. She lives in Glasgow with her husband, two daughters, and their black lab.
Rose Reilly, born in 1955 in Kilmarnock, Scotland, is a trailblazing footballer who defied gender norms to play professionally. After being banned in Scotland for speaking out, she moved abroad, starring in France and Italy. She won eight Serie A titles, four Italian Cups, and even played for both Scotland and Italy, captaining the latter to a 1984 World Cup win. Honoured with an MBE and a spot in the Scottish Football Hall of Fame, she remains a legend in women’s football.
