Our popular Heritage Centre boasts an impressive collection of information which charts the stories of the people and places of Renfrewshire from the earliest of times to the present day.

Trace your family history and relax in the quiet of the Heritage Centre. Find out about the local history of Renfrewshire, its people and places, from the earliest times to the present day.

Take a look at our gallery of archive photographs of Renfrew, which includes pictures of iconic buildings, and local events in the area.

We are continuing to encourage visitors to the Heritage Centre to pre-book their visits as this allows us to discuss their research requirements and to prepare resources in advance for the visit. Bookings are in two-hour slots, 10am to 12 noon and 2pm to 4pm Monday to Friday; please arrange by emailing us at heritage@renfrewshire.gov.uk  or by calling 0141 487 3722.

Visitors are also welcome to drop-in during our opening hours of 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday where Heritage Centre staff will assist with their enquiries. Face coverings are no longer required on visits, however visitors can wear a face covering if they prefer.

"I have a wide experience of working across varied archives in England, Wales and Scotland and rate Paisley Heritage Centre as one of the very best."
